Germany Signs €1.5 Billion Plan to Turn Northern Port and Airport Into NATO Hub

Germany is set to turn the northern port of Bremerhaven into a major NATO deployment hub for large-scale allied reinforcements, under a project backed by around €1.35 billion in federal defense funding through 2031. Bremerhaven has also approved more than €212 million from its own port investment fund for the project, Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said after signing a Letter of Intent on Tuesday.
