The Georgian manor on the Northamptonshire-Oxfordshire border doubled as Netherfield Park in the TV series adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel. A source said: “Geri and Christian had their hearts set on Edgcote. Geri rode her horses on the gallops at the vast estate, which has its own racecourse. “Christian even flew over the property in a helicopter, and the couple visited the tenant houses across the estate as they made their plans. “But their dream move is over. They’re heartbroken. “Their celeb rival ‘came from nowhere,’ and her mega-offer blew them out of the water.” Grade I-listed Edgcote House was built between 1748 and 1754 and covers almost 26,000 sq ft over four floors. The grounds were designed by 18th-century landscaper Capability Brown. A huge attraction for horse-lover Geri was the 1,149-acre farm and equestrian facilities, including professional racing yards, training centres and a racecourse.
