Developer HoYoverse has officially revealed the content for Genshin Impact 7.0 via the latest update livestream, providing players with an official release date for the patch and the arrival of Snezhnaya, detailing the new characters and banner structure, and more. The popular action RPG is reaching the end of Version 6.7 and gearing up for the release of Snezhnaya, the Nation of Cryo, in August. This will kick off a new year of content with new Snezhnaya characters in Genshin Impact, as well as a new story arc to follow. Version 7.0 will be the largest update this year, with tons of new content to explore, as well as some surprising additions to the six-year-old RPG. There had already been a few leaks about Snezhnaya and what to expect from it, on top of official teasers made by HoYoverse itself, but now we have a full grasp of what it will have to offer. Luckily, we won’t have to wait much longer to dive into Teyvat’s coldest region and start unraveling the secrets of why the Tsaritsa in Genshin Impact is after the Gnoses and what Project Stuzha really is. Genshin Impact 7.0 - Release Date Following the conclusion of the Version 7.0 livestream, the developer officially revealed when the patch will arrive. It was possible to speculate when the update would arrive based on HoYoverse’s regular behavior, but there is now confirmation of when the patch will be dropped. The Genshin Impact 7.0 update will be released on August 12, across all platforms on which the game is available. It is very unlikely that the Version 7.0 patch release will be pushed back in any way as of now. When HoYoverse is anticipating a postponement, the company usually delays the respective livestream. Since the event has happened and the release has been announced, there should be nothing to worry about. On top of that, HoYoverse has been sticking to a steady release calendar for Genshin Impact for years. The last delay happened back in 2022. Genshin Impact 7.0 Livestream Codes While all the details about Snezhnaya were certainly the highlight of the special event, HoYoverse also used it as a stage to present the Genshin Impact 7.0 livestream codes, which offer players a variety of different in-game rewards. You can get Character EXP Materials and more, but the most important part of these is the bundle of free Primogems. In total, you can claim up to 300 free Primogems in Genshin Impact with these codes if you redeem all three codes. The three Version 7.0 livestream codes and their respective rewards are listed below: Genshin Impact 7.0 Codes Rewards Everwinter 100x Primogems, 10x Mystic Enhancement Ore OntoSnezhnaya 100x Primogems, 5x Hero's Wit Odette0812 100x Primogems, 50,000x Mora These codes are time-sensitive and must be redeemed before they expire on August 3. After that, their rewards will be unobtainable for players. To redeem them, you can log into the official Genshin Impact website and use the Redeem Code feature. Alternatively, you can redeem these codes in-game via the same feature in the Account section of your settings. Regardless of how you redeem them, the respective rewards will be sent to your in-game mailbox, from where they must be claimed. One of the main attractions during the special event was the official reveal of the new playable characters. HoYoverse had already announced them via drip marketing posts, but they have now been showcased in-game, highlighting their abilities and more. In Version 7.0, players will be introduced to Odette, a new 5-star Cryo character who fights with a sword. Odette’s kit in Genshin Impact is that of a main DPS who will focus mainly on dealing Stellar-Conduct or Stellar-Swirl DMG to opponents. Odette will be able to deal continuous bursts of AoE Cryo DMG, which will hopefully trigger reactions with Electro or Anemo characters for the new Stellar reactions in Genshin Impact. Given how she works, she will be an alternative to Sandrone, a Stellar-Conduct specialist in the RPG. Odette is the only new 5-star unit in this patch, but she isn’t the only new character. Players will also meet Alyosha in Genshin Impact 7.0, a new 4-star Electro character who uses a polearm in battle. According to HoYoverse, Alyosha will be able to buff all allies’ ATK stat. Additionally, he will increase Stellar-Conduct DMG. He will have great Electro application potential with all of his off-field abilities, making him a viable DPS for both Odette and Sandrone – and he is coming as a free character for all, following the trend of new 4-star characters being given to all players with the arrival of each major nation. The Cryo Traveler is also making their debut in Version 7.0, as hinted at by HoYoverse. They will also have the power to enable Cryo-related Stellar reactions, both Stellar-Conduct and Stellar-Swirl. In addition to the new Cryo powers, the Traveler will also gain a new weapon in Snezhnaya. The banner structure for the patch has also been revealed. In Phase 1, banners will feature Odette and Arlecchino. In Phase 2, the rerun banners will feature Flins and Ineffa as the featured 5-star units. Snezhnaya Release, Story Updates, Events, & More While the new characters and the prospective reruns are all enticing, they are part of a larger update, and Snezhnaya is its star. With Version 7.0, players will finally make their way into the final nation of Teyvat, the Nation of Cryo. A portion of the harsh winterland had already been teased by HoYoverse, but the livestream showcased even more about what to expect. Snezhnaya is a land of fae, and this will be represented by the different fae NPCs in Genshin Impact 7.0, which walk alongside humankind. As had already been hinted at, there will also be an important new TPS game mode in Genshin Impact, which will see the Traveler bear firearms and grenades to progress through levels. The TPS mode will occur inside an area called Shadow Realm. There will be several different types of weapons, all of which interact directly with the game’s elemental system, so the weapons you fire will trigger different types of reactions. Version 7.0 will feature a large variety of different events to partake in, all of which are an opportunity to grab rewards, including free Primogems. One of these events is a multi-tiered experience, which features train-conducting, third-person shooting, platforming, battling, and more. There’s a lot to look forward to with the arrival of Version 7.0. While this is certainly the last nation of Teyvat, the story seems far from over, as whatever happens in Snezhnaya will have implications that could lead players to Khaenri’ah and Celestia in future years. For now, however, this new Genshin Impact update will be the pinnacle of the main story arc as we know it, and it starts with Version 7.0.
