Gen. Dhiraj Seth conferred honorary rank of General of Nepali Army

The conferment of the honorary rank is part of a longstanding military tradition under which India and Nepal reciprocally confer the honorary rank of General on the Chiefs of each other’s armies.The tradition is regarded as a symbol of the close and enduring ties between the Indian Army and the Nepali Army. The reciprocal honour also reflects mutual trust, professional respect and military camaraderie between the two forces.The ceremony, a tradition sustained across successive generations of military leadership, underscores the continuity of the distinctive military relationship between the two armies and their commitment to strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual interest, the Army said.General Seth paid a courtesy call on the Chief of the Army Staff, General Ashok Raj Sigdel. During the meeting, they discussed matters of mutual interest and ways to strengthen bilateral military relations.During his visit, General Seth also received and inspected a Guard of Honour at the Army Headquarters.
