Gaza Civil Defense recovered 233 bodies from rubble in last 51 days

Gaza Civil Defense teams have recovered 233 bodies, including 73 children, since the launch of their "second phase of recovery operations" 51 days ago, according to a statement by the Gaza Government Media Office shared on Telegram on Thursday. The bodies were recovered from the rubble of at least 20 homes in Gaza. According to the media office statement, civil defense teams are "prioritizing buildings known to contain the highest number of missing bodies beneath their debris." Israel continues to launch strikes on Gaza, despte the ceasefire agreement that took place in October 2025.
