Gas pipeline leak causes traffic diversion along highway in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

A gas leak was reported from a GAIL pipeline near Takliwadi in Gangapur taluka, in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district, on Saturday (August 29, 2026) around 5 p.m., along the 24-kilometre stretch of the Samruddhi Expressway. Traffic was diverted as a precaution, officials said.Traffic was resumed between the Hadas Pimpalgaon and Maliwada areas along Samruddhi Highway at 4 a.m. on Sunday (August 30, 2026), according to district officials.After the incident was reported, the district administration had launched precautionary measures and alerted officials of GAIL, they said.Vehicles on the way to Nagpur will exit at the Maliwada interchange, use the Dhule-Solapur highway and re-enter the expressway at Hadas Pimpalgaon, District officials said..“The administration initiated precautionary measures and called officials from GAIL to the spot.
