Gary O’Neil shares heartbreaking statement announcing death of his ‘incredible’ dad as Ipswich lead tributes

GARY O’NEIL has announced the tragic news that his father, Graham, has died. The Ipswich boss released an emotional statement on Instagram paying tribute. Love you.” Ipswich paid tribute on social media by saying: “All at Ipswich Town are deeply saddened by the passing of Gary O’Neil’s father, Graham. Most read in Sport “Our thoughts, condolences and love are with Gary and his family at this incredibly sad time.” Aston Villa‘s Joao Gomes, who played under O’Neil while at Wolves, said: “I’m sorry for you, Boss.” Former EFL star and Sky Sports pundit Luke Chambers said: “Thinking of you mate.” Steve Sidwell, who was once in the England Under-21 squad alongside O’Neil, replied with a blue heart emoji. Portsmouth star Marlon Pack said: “Sorry for your loss mate. “Thoughts with you and the family.” O’Neil joined Ipswich in June following their promotion to the Premier League. The Tractor Boys have won two of their four top flight games so far, picking up three points against Sunderland and away at Crystal Palace. They have suffered defeats away at Manchester United and at home to Liverpool. Following last weekend’s Palace win, O’Neil said it had been the best four months of his career. He said: “It’s been the best four months of my career, playing or managing. I’ve loved it, every minute of it. “The playing group just gives everything.
