Having had 37 years in football I’m enjoying finding other areas where I think I might be able to make a difference.” Southgate previously refused to rule out a return to management one day, but hinted that it is unlikely. He said: “You can’t say never to anything . . . but it’s not something I’m actively looking at. I’m enjoying my life. I’ve got quite a lot on. “I’m in the middle of writing a book and I’ve got several business interests. I do some work on leadership . . . but I’ve also got time to travel and play a bit of golf.” Last month Southgate gave a glimpse into how he had spent his summer as England competed at the World Cup under his successor Thomas Tuchel. An Instagram post included snaps of Southgate in the Royal Box at Wimbledon and posing on the corner of a Manhattan street. The post also featured Southgate giving a motivational speech and chatting with Prince William. Comment now
