Garda to appear in court in connection with anti-corruption investigation

A garda is due to appear in court charged in connection with alleged corruption. In a statement, An Garda Síochána said he has been suspended from duty since the investigation by the Garda anti-corruption unit first began.The garda, who is in his 30s and is based in the Dublin region, is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice this morning.“As this is an ongoing criminal investigation An Garda Síochána is making no further comment,” the Garda said.
