Ganpati 2026: Mumbai Metro extends services on 3 corridors till midnight

The move is meant to help devotees visit pandals, avoid traffic and travel home safely.MMRC has extended Aqua Line services till midnight for Ganeshotsav from 14 to 25 September 2026 (Representative image)Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has extended the operating hours of the Aqua Line, or Mumbai Metro Line 3, to make travel more convenient for devotees during the Ganeshotsav celebrations.METRO LINE 3 SERVICES EXTENDED TILL MIDNIGHTThe extended services will be available from September 14 to September 25, 2026.The last trains from both terminal stations Cuffe Parade and Aarey JVLR normally depart at 10:30 pm. During the extended service period, the last trains will run till 12 midnight.The move is aimed at giving devotees more time to visit Ganesh pandals and return home comfortably and safely during the festival. AQUA LINE CONNECTS KEY GANESHOTSAV LOCATIONSThe Aqua Line provides connectivity to popular Ganesh mandals located near Siddhivinayak, Dadar, Worli, Mahalaxmi and Girgaon.The extended Metro services are expected to help devotees reach some of Mumbai's popular Ganeshotsav locations while avoiding traffic congestion.GANESH IDOLS UP TO 18 INCHES ALLOWED For the convenience and safety of passengers, devotees will be permitted to carry Ganesh idols up to 18 inches (45 cm) in height on the Aqua Line Metro.Passengers will have to follow the prescribed safety guidelines while carrying the idols.MMRC URGES MUMBAIKARS TO USE EXTENDED SERVICESMMRC has invited Mumbaikars to make the most of the extended Metro services during Ganeshotsav.The extended operating hours are intended to support convenient and safe travel as devotees celebrate the festival across Mumbai.- EndsPublished By: Chaitanya DhawanPublished On: Sep 5, 2026 18:05 IST
