However, fans have another major release to look forward to this year as Game of Thrones introduces The White Stag as part of the new Kingswood Hunt. Game of Thrones: Dragonfire is bringing one of House of the Dragon's most memorable symbols into the game with The Kingswood Hunt, a limited-time event running from September 17 through September 23. The event revolves around tracking and defeating White Stag Encounters scattered across the campaign map, allowing players to take part in their own version of the legendary royal hunt. The White Stag (also referred to as the White Hart) carries particular significance in Westerosi folklore, where it has long been associated with royalty, destiny, and divine favor. House of the Dragon famously used the creature during Season 1's "Second of His Name" episode. While Viserys' hunting party hoped its appearance would serve as an auspicious sign for young Aegon, the true White Stag instead appeared before Rhaenyra Targaryen, who allowed it to walk away unharmed. The scene was widely interpreted within the story as another sign supporting Rhaenyra’s claim to the Iron Throne. In Dragonfire, players access The Kingswood through the Events panel and earn points by hunting White Stags in encounters around the map. Each attempt consumes Resolve, a special event energy that regenerates over time and can also be replenished daily using Gold. Players do not need tile adjacency to attack the creatures, and defeating one frees its tile rather than granting ownership. The White Stag also fights back with Crowned Decree, which has a 35% chance to deal 125% Physical damage and can potentially Stagger its target for one round.
