There's no doubt that the Game of Thrones TV series didn't end in the way most were hoping, and a big part of that was how Daenerys Targaryen's story arc drew to a close. The first five or six seasons had seen the character progress from a genuinely sympathetic and oppressed figure to a warlord whose decision-making was making the audience increasingly uncomfortable. It was all going rather well, until the final season saw her suddenly gripped by a genocidal madness that brought about the destruction of much of King's Landing. To say it was jarring would be a bit of an understatement, and it's a real shame considering the character could have happily ended up in the same place for the audience at home, if only she was given more time to get there. That said, there's no doubt that Daenerys Targaryen was a compelling character in the story of A Song of Ice and Fire, and her return is always bound to draw interest from existing fans. Now, that's about to happen, and in an adaptation that you might not have been aware of up to this point. In case you haven't played it yet, Game of Thrones: Legends is a free-to-play match-3 puzzle role-playing mobile game where players collect and upgrade iconic champions, weapons, and dragons from both Game of Thrones, and now House of the Dragon. Over on the official website for the game, the developer shared a lengthy update about everything they have planned over the next few months. As part of that, the Robb's War event is set to go ahead from Thursday, November 5, at 4 a.m. ET to Monday, November 9, at 2 a.m. ET. That includes the return of several major characters from the franchise to date, all of whom are Legendary Champions, including Robb Stark, Daemon Targaryen, Olenna Tyrell and Daenerys Targaryen (Conqueror of Qarth). That probably remains the peak version of Daenerys, when she was at her all-conquering zenith, and that should be quite a cool iteration to have in the game. That's not the only time a version of the character is set to appear in the game in the coming months either. The Old Raven summons set includes a ton of other characters for you to draw upon, including Maester Aemon, Benjen Stark, Samwell Tarley, Daenerys Targaryen (Mother Of Dragons), Rhaenyra Targaryen (The Black Queen), and Grey Worm. All of those require exalted tokens, so you will need to play the game first and earn those before you are able to get those new characters into your own game. Outside of that, fans of the work of George RR Martin have plenty more to look forward to in the coming years and months. Though his next book is still showing no signs of appearing, we have the next season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms coming in 2027, before that makes way for the concluding season of House of the Dragon, drawing a relatively successful run to an end in 2028.
