The main series ended the way it did, and many people are still pretty unhappy with the series as a whole. But A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has been a huge critical and commercial success, and it got people back into the franchise. There's also House of the Dragon, which has had its ups and downs and relies heavily on the promise of constantly seeing dragons on-screen. For any dragon fans out there, thanks to a new WB Blog post, we have more information on Game of Thrones: Malachite. Game of Thrones: Dragonfire has announced details for a new update focused on Malachite, the Green Warden dragon. The idea is to build around strong damage dealers and add first-strike/offensive-minded units to maximize Malachite's playstyle. He has an early-game spike that you should take advantage of, much like a rush strategy in similar games. From a lore perspective, here's what's going on with the core loop of Dragonfire: "Caring for one’s dragon is a remarkable feat. Over many years of training, Elder Angar had learned the secret arts of hatching that had been closely guarded by only the most trusted in Targaryen service. Now he passes that knowledge to you." Even without that spike, it has healing capabilities that can sustain a longer battle. On paper, it sounds like a fantastic pick. Here's the official lore breakdown: "Malachite, the Green Warden, whose scales glitter like the rarest gems, is said to have hatched in a lightning-struck tree in the Stormlands. One fateful day, a greedy lord from House Baratheon sought to fell the ancient trees for his war machines. Malachite’s roar was so thunderous it made the very earth tremble and caused the lord to wet his breeches! The soldiers fled in terror, leaving their axes and saws to rust. Now, the only axes in that forest are the ones Malachite lets the squirrels play with. His roar is a guardian’s cry, a sound that ensures the ancient forest remains untouched by the greed of men." If you're curious how many dragons the game has now, here's a full list: Kalspire – The Radiant Conqueror Meleys – The Red Queen Moondancer – The Silver Blade Sheepstealer – The Brown Terror Smoketail – The Veilflame Starshower – The Wishkeeper Sunfyre – The Golden Tairax – The Moonlit Stalker Tessarion – The Blue Queen Venator – The Shadow of the Wilds Vhagar – Legend Made Flesh Vermithor – The Bronze Fury As for Malachite, here's how he is expected to play out during protracted battles: "Malachite is a Legendary support-oriented Tactical Sentinel who strengthens allied offense and survivability through broad buffing, sustained Recovery, and powerful early-round empowerment. He excels at enabling his team’s damage dealers by granting Advantage, increasing allied Strength, and granting First-Strike and Double-Strike. At the same time, he provides steady healing and targeted defensive utility, helping his team maintain pressure without sacrificing durability." While you wait for House of the Dragon to conclude in 2028, Game of Thrones: Dragonfire is here in the meantime. Systems Released June 2, 2026 Developer(s) Warner Bros.
