After the success of Olympus Has Fallen (2013) and London Has Fallen (2016), which star Gerard Butler as Secret Service agent Mike Banning, the action franchise expanded with the Paris Has Fallen TV show in 2024. Tewfik Jallab and Ritu Arya led the eight-episode series and are confirmed to return for season 2, Apollo Has Fallen. Ahead of the September 14 premiere of season 2, THR now confirms that a third season of the Has Fallen show, called Shadow Has Fallen, is moving forward. Iwan Rheon (Game of Thrones), Atandwa Kani (Black Panther), and Brendan Coyle (Downton Abbey) have joined the cast of season 3, which features the return of Jallab and Arya. Filming on season 3 is now underway, with production taking place in South Africa and the U.K. Featuring six episodes, the new season was written by series creator Howard Overman. Though plot specifics are being kept under wraps, Overman teases that season 3 will feature the most intense mission yet: "There’s a scale to season 3 that we’ve been building towards since Paris Has Fallen," he says. “Shadow Has Fallen will see Vincent and Zara embark on their most demanding and morally challenging mission – a mission that takes them into the very heart of Southern Africa.” More to come...
