According to Yonhap News, it accounted for around 70 per cent of the total pre-orders, suggesting that Samsung’s new wider form factor is getting a strong response from buyers.The Fold 8 moves away from the tall and narrow design that Samsung has used on its book-style foldables for years. The new shape is wider and shorter, giving the phone a more conventional smartphone-like feel when closed while offering a large display when unfolded. The Galaxy Z8 series recorded 1.44 million pre-orders, compared with 1.35 million for the Galaxy S26 series and 1.04 million for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7.The foldable lineup has also been recovering after a weaker performance in 2024. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 recorded around 1.02 million pre-orders, while the Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 fell to around 910,000.
