Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra join the One UI 9 Watch beta party

The update is currently live in South Korea, but could land in the US over the coming days. This comes as the company has already started rolling out the second One UI 9 Watch beta for the Galaxy Watch 8. The Galaxy Watch 9 and the Watch Ultra 2 are the only two smartwatches that currently run One UI 9 Watch out of the box. Samsung wasted no time rolling out the beta for some of its older wearables, starting with the Galaxy Watch 8 not too long ago. Now it’s the Galaxy Watch 7 and the first-generation Galaxy Watch Ultra’s turn to get the Wear OS 7-based beta.Samsung appears to be rolling out the update to the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra in South Korea. Screenshots shared in Samsung’s community forum highlight some of the changes, including an upgraded Samsung Health app with improved sleep insights, as well as improved UI elements and other additions (via SamMobile).Users also report the addition of Vascular Load in this particular beta for the two smartwatches. Unfortunately, Samsung has recently replaced this in the US with Blood Pressure Trend. So don’t expect to find Vascular Load on your 2024 Galaxy smartwatches when the beta arrives in the States.WJGalaxy / Samsung CommunityThe Wear OS 7-based software for the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra is about 1.9GB in size and comes with firmware version L310XXU2ZZI1/L310OXM2ZZI1. The update also includes the September 2026 security patch. Although it’s currently limited to users in South Korea, we expect the US to follow suit soon. When available, Galaxy Watch Ultra and Watch 7 owners should be able to download and install the update via the banner on the Samsung Members app.While we can’t say when the One UI 9 Watch beta will be available to US owners of the two smartwatches, it shouldn’t take long, given how it was handled for the Galaxy Watch 8 series late last month.
