Galaxy Stadium: Texas Tech lands $75 million naming rights deal with AI company

Galaxy Stadium replaces Jones AT&T Stadium as home of the Red Raiders. Galaxy’s flagship Helios AI (Artificial Intelligence) & HPC (High-Performance Computing) Data Center campus is located in Dickens County, Texas, about 70 miles east of Lubbock. Galaxy also will offer NIL opportunities for Texas Tech’s student-athletes as part of the deal. When it opened in 1947, Tech’s stadium was named Jones Stadium in honor of former Texas Tech president Clifford B. Jones and his wife Aubrey. It was officially renamed from Jones Stadium to Jones SBC Stadium in 2000 following major corporate gifts in excess of $25 million from SBC Communications. In 2006, it was renamed Jones AT&T Stadium after SBC Communications formally changed its name to AT&T. Texas Tech opens the season at Galaxy Stadium Sept. 5 vs. Abilene Christian.
