MEGA-DINGHIES from China are being shipped through Britain before criminal gangs pack them with migrants to cross the Channel. Essentials such as the boat, engine, pump, and fuel were all in one package ready to be deployed from France to the UK. READ MORE ON CHANNEL CRISIS He added that they will keep “giving us opportunities to disrupt it wherever it appears.” They were seized at Felixstowe last month and were understood to be heading to Hamburg, Germany, before they were intercepted, the Sunday Times revealed. Felixstowe is often the first European destination for cargo from China before the goods head to the continent. This follows the discovery of thousands of life jackets, thirty boats and 360 pumps near Dusseldorf in May. Most read in The Sun The revelation comes after one 15-metre mega vessel carried a staggering 230 people to Dover last Monday. More than three thousand migrants have crossed in small boats since Andy Burnham came to office a month ago. Progress has been made in cutting the number of migrants crossing with the NCA seizing 634 engines in the year to April, nearly double on the 12 months previously. Eight hundred specialist organised immigration officers are now part of the NCA which is twice the previous number. Burnham has said he will be “relentless” in stopping the migrants. The deterrent measures have seen 43 per cent fewer arrivals and 49 per cent fewer boats in the year to July.
