Fury as classic Paddington Bear show slapped with trigger warning over ‘outdated’ scene ‘unlikely to offend anyone’

Woke ITV bosses have issued a trigger warning on a classic Paddington Bear show featuring him doing the can-can in burlesque gear. Viewers on ITVX are told that some episodes of the original 1976 animated series for children contain “outdated attitudes”. A TV insider said: “There is no way the original broadcast was intent on offending anyone, it was just the innocence of the time. He’s also seen shooting marmalade chunks doused in black ink from a recorder onto his teacher’s face. The Paddington Bear animated series was based on the books by Michael Bond. The stories follow the Peruvian-born bear moving in with the Brown family at 32 Windsor Gardens and adapting to British life.
