The Pentagon has not released the soldier's identity. Central Command is also working to establish whether remains found close to the devastated Jordan base belong to a fourth service member who had been listed as missing. He added that the directive 'has been passed on to Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Daniel Caine, and every Leader in the Military.'Soon after, US Central Command announced it was conducting another wave of airstrikes on Iranian military assets in an effort to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, through which one-fifth of the world's oil supply traverses.It said on social media that the latest strikes 'are designed to further degrade Iranian military capabilities used to attack commercial shipping' in the strait.
