‘Fun-loving’ fiancé, 32, killed in Tube platform attack after Notting Hill Carnival is pictured as family pay tribute

NewsUK News A MAN who died after being attacked at a busy London Underground station has been hailed as “caring and kind” by his devastated family. Thomas Jewitt, 32, was on his way back from Notting Hill Carnival when he was “seriously assaulted” at Liverpool Street Station. He was travelling back from Notting Hill Carnival before the horror unfolded on the platform, cops added. Tom was surrounded by his heartbroken family when he passed away earlier this month. Issuing a touching tribute today, they said: “We can’t believe that Tom has been taken from us. “Tom was fun-loving, caring and kind. He always looked out for others, and made them feel better. “He had a successful career in affordable housing, and a bright future that was taken away from him too soon. “He was excited about marrying his fiancée next year. Tom is deeply loved by his family, his many, many friends, and his work colleagues. Most read in The Sun “We will draw what strength we can from the wonderful memories we have of Tom.” Jeremiah Maximo, 38, of Drydock Square, Barking, had been charged with Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH) in connection to the incident. Maximo was charged prior to Thomas’ death and was later remanded into custody. Superintendent Sam Blackburn said: “First and foremost our thoughts are firmly with loved ones of the young man who has sadly died. “They are being supported by specially trained officers as our investigation continues. “The victim was travelling back from Notting Hill Carnival at the time of the incident. “We continue to appeal to anyone who saw what happened and has not yet spoken to police to come forward and assist our investigation. “Witnesses or anyone with information can contact us by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 799 of 30 August. “Information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
