Full list of bus routes where over 14million people can travel for FREE across England this month

FREE bus travel is now available to millions of children across the UK this August. Under 16s can now hop on the bus for no cost as part of the government’s Great British Summer Saving scheme. But the government has explained that the scheme will only be available on participating buses. Luckily, there are thousands of routes and hundreds of bus providers your child can travel on for no cost at all across England this summer. For example, in the East Midlands, Arriva buses and Stagecoach have opted into the scheme. Up to 29 bus providers in the region are offering youngsters hundreds of routes for free. Elsewhere, in the Eaat of England, Arriva, IpswichBusess and Uno are among providers offering dozens and dozens of routes for free. The same goes for the South West of the country where Diamond Bus, Dartline and Beeline coaches are just some of the companies offering free travel. It comes as Mayor Andy Burnham revealed he could cap bus fares at £2 at the beginning of next year; this is a reduction of £1 on the current cap. More ways YOU can save this summer It is not only bus fares which have been slashed as part of the initiative, with a number of attractions slashing VAT to ease costs for households. Peppa Pig World, Alton Towers and Legoland are among the well-known attractions taking part. Merlin Entertainments, which owns 20 venues including Alton Towers and Legoland, has updated ticket prices to show “summer VAT savings applied”. Advance tickets for both parks now start at £29.75, down from £34. There is no legal requirement for businesses to take part in the scheme, which runs across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland until September 1.
