A BELOVED British shoe chain is set to shutter 17 stores, in a huge blow to the high street. Closing down sales have been launched across the sites, giving shoppers one last chance to score a bargain. A statement from the group said: “It’s with sadness that we announce that certain Wynsors stores will be closing its doors. Sign up for the Money newsletter Thank you! “We’d like to say a huge thank you to all of our customers who have shopped with us and supported the store over the years. That includes its branch in Hanley, where customers can enjoy discounts of up to 30% off. In Rochdale, an ‘everything must go’ sale has also been launched. The same goes for its branch in Crewe. Most read in Money If you don’t live near any of the sites, you can still shop discounts by visiting its online store. The chain’s website is currently running a summer sale, with shoppers able to score a reduction of up to 50% on some items. But it is worth noting that the brand is not closing down its website. It comes amid a challenging time for Britian’s retail scene. Up to 150 TG Jones stores are at risk of closure, after the chain was rebranded from WH Smith last year. Earlier this year, Claire’s Accessories collapsed into administration, closing all 154 of its standalone sites in April.
