Full-featured Adobe Premiere app finally comes to Android and it’s free

Adobe frames Adobe Premiere as being for “creators” because it can be used to create TikToks and Instagram Reels, turn video podcast moments into the phenomenon known as clips, and edit vlogs. But who isn’t a creator nowadays? Another thing Adobe subtly seems to have an opinion on is how many of those who create do so on an iPhone vs. an Android, because Adobe Premiere for iOS debuted a year ago. What Adobe Premiere does But there’s no sense in holding a grudge since the app does give access to a full suite of extremely helpful video tools on mobile. It lets you get off to a fast start with creator-made templates; edits and exports videos up to 4K; handles effects, transitions, creative assets and music from Adobe Stock, your own files, or extracted audio; layers video, music, voiceovers, and effects on a multi-track timeline; and has an Enhance Audio feature for studio-quality sound. There are also generative AI features for those who want them, including Generative Fill, Image-to-Video, and Generate Sound Effects. Adobe said that it also has plans to add Adobe Fonts, enhanced captions, keyframes, cropping, beat detection, and continued editing on Premiere desktop. Available now Adobe Premiere is on the Google Play Store today. It already has over 50,000 downloads. It works on devices running Android 13 or later, with a minimum of 5GB of RAM. The app is free and does not require a login and there are no upgrade prompts. There are also no watermarks on your work. The only things that require payment are AI features and cloud storage. Not the first time Adobe Premiere did have some representation in the Play Store from 2019 to 2025 with Premiere Rush CC. It was a stripped-down version of Adobe Premiere for mobile devices. The app did not have as many features as this new version, though, and had a $9.99 monthly charge or was available as part of the full Adobe Creative Cloud Suite that is over $50 a month. Making Adobe Premiere available now will cut into the increasing competition Adobe faces from apps like Canva and CapCut.
