FrontLine’s Stricklin crisis unit closing, merging with new behavioral health center in September

NewsThe Centers shared a rendering of what the front door to new behavioral health crisis center will look like, including its new name, the Glick Recovery Campus.Courtesy of CPL and The CentersBy Kaitlin Durbin, cleveland.comAdvance Local Express DeskCLEVELAND, Ohio — FrontLine Service’s Stricklin Crisis Stabilization Unit will close Aug. 31 after 13 years of operation, with services transitioning to the new Glick Recovery Campus when it opens Sept. 14.The Stricklin unit, which has served more than 300 clients annually, providing short-term stabilization for people experiencing mental health and substance use crises, will stop accepting referrals Aug. 10.During the transition, residents will continue to have access to crisis services by calling the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, operated by FrontLine Service. Trained counselors are available 24 hours a day to provide support and connect callers to resources, including the Cuyahoga County Diversion Center and mobile crisis services.“Our responsibility is to ensure that every person experiencing a behavioral health crisis has access to timely, compassionate care,” ADAMHS Board CEO Jason Joyce said in a recent statement.The closure comes as Cuyahoga County and the Cuyahoga County Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board have redirected funding to support a new behavioral health facility run by The Centers. Services previously offered at the Stricklin unit will now be provided at the new Glick Recovery Campus, located at the former St. Vincent Charity Medical Center campus, 2322 E. 22nd St.The new behavioral health campus will offer crisis and outpatient services, withdrawal management and recovery services. The facility will be open 24/7 on a walk-in basis with no appointments or referrals necessary.FrontLine Service will continue operating other programs, including the county’s 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, mobile crisis teams and substance use treatment services.
