From subtle Father’s Day post to podcast appearance – all the clues that Harry & Meghan were coming back to UK

PRINCE Harry and Meghan are making a surprise return to Britain in a matter of weeks but could we have seen this coming? Reflecting on his own time in the military, the Duke of Sussex, 41, said Britain will “always be the country I proudly served and fought for”. The piece, titled “The Bond, The Banter, The Bravery: What it means to be British – By Prince Harry”, describes his love for his country. The Duke of Sussex, who undertook two frontline tours in Afghanistan, speaks fondly of his time serving alongside soldiers from “all four corners” of the UK. Most read in Royals In May this year, Harry penned another poignant letter speaking to his connection to the UK. He spoke out on the rise in antisemitism in Britain in the wake of the horrific stabbings in Golders Green. Harry wrote: “Britain has long prided itself on valuing reason over outrage, dialogue over division, and civility over noise. Archie is seen donning an England football top as he hugs his dad. He is also donning the red and white shirt in a photo Meghan uploaded to her Instagram showing the family’s summer holiday. Summer Holiday in the UK In July, the Sussex family returned to the UK for the first time since 2022 as the Duke marked one year until the 2027 Invictus games in Birmingham. Alongside appearances on This Morning – including a memorable hug with Alison Hammond – Harry found time to reconnect with his family as King Charles saw Archie and Lilibet for the first time in four years. Harry also mentioned plans to take his children to visit his mother’s grave, implying he was hoping to strengthen their ties to the UK. The visit was later confirmed by photos of the family at the Althorp Estate in Northamptonshire, Diana’s family home. This summer’s trip also marked the first time Meghan, 45, had been in the UK since the late Queen’s funeral. Meaning, it could have been an effort to test security following the couple’s previous fight for protection. The show features the former rugby star playing an “unqualified pseudo-psychologist” where he invites celebrities into his clinic for probing questions and personality tests. When quizzed about his occupation by the former England rugby man, Harry said that he was “Prince of England”, “Duke” and a “full time dad”. He also revealed that he has watched Love Island during the candid chat. Here he ranked the British Harrys – placing Harry Styles as number one – and called out Corden for saying soccer over football. The Duke also admitted he thought British beer was superior to American equivalents. Concerns about online safety Beer aside, the pair have hinted the UK might be a more practical home for their kids in their recent support of the online safety act. In a letter posted on the pair’s official website in June of this year they wrote: “We welcome the UK Government’s announcement of new measures to better protect children online.” They added: “The burden cannot rest solely on parents and children. It must also be borne by the companies. “Until then, every day without meaningful change is another day that children remain exposed to preventable harm.” The family are set to return at the end of the month “for an extended period” with Archie and Lilibet enrolling in a British school. Charles was told on Sunday that his son and daughter-in-law are returning to Britain.
