She began a career in modelling when she was seven, and by age 17 she won the Miss Spain pageant. In 2002, she met Arteta for the first time at a nightclub in the Spanish coastal town of San Sebastian. Lorena has also tried her hand at acting, appearing on American TV shows Chuck and CSI: Miami.
