Freshman Kamora Pruitt, Annsley Trivette adjusting smoothly to NC State

NC State coach Wes Moore has had freshmen Kamora Pruitt and Annsley Trivette on campus for about a month. Pruitt, Trivette and post player Favour Osaai Chinoye make up the Wolfpack’s class of 2026 recruiting class, though Chinoye’s arrival from Nigeria has been delayed by visa issues. She played high school basketball in Japan. Pruitt finished ranked No. 32 overall in the class of 2026 by Rivals and No. 40 by ESPN’s HoopGurlz, and Trivette was ranked No. 93 by Rivals. Both bring different skill sets to the Wolfpack. “I think both of them will have an opportunity to contribute,” Moore said. “But obviously, it’s what happens the next three months or so until we really get into the games that count and all that. But excited about both of them, glad to have them.” The 6-2 Pruitt plays an inside-outside game and was a standout for Legion Prep Academy in Dallas, Texas. She averaged 18.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game her senior year, helping Legion Prep Academy finish as runner-up in the Grind Session. Pruitt earned a spot in the Ballislife SeaWorld outdoor all-star game in San Diego, Calif. Moore compared Pruitt to the role that Madison Hayes played in the past. “Can really shoot the three with a lot of range,” Moore said. “Great size. I mean, we could probably play her at the three or even play her some with four guards, let her guard the forward some defensively.” Trivette had an amazing senior year in four different sports. She led Abingdon (Va.) High to the VHSL Class 3 state title in both basketball and volleyball, played soccer and won the state title in the shot put (44 feet, 7 inches) and discus (141-10). The 6-2 Trivette has a nice touch inside, has high basketball IQ and is an active shot-blocker. Trivette averaged 23.8 points and 9.9 rebounds per game her senior year at Abingdon High. Moore said she has even extended her shooting range while on campus. “She’s been shooting the three extremely well in workouts,” Moore said. “She’s going to be more of a forward/post player. Again, undersized maybe, but very strong in there. Blue collar, hardworking, physical, has shown great strides in the conditioning aspect, especially on the track.” Moore said the conditioning aspect was the biggest adjustment to college for Pruitt and Trivette. “I think for both of them, the conditioning has been a little bit of a shocker,” Moore said. “That’s what I try to tell kids, get in the best shape of your life before you get here, and that’s going to help you your freshman year. “I’ve seen both of them make great strides in that regard, and they’ve got good work ethic, and they’re getting there.”
