Ukraine has received fresh intelligence indicating that Russia is preparing a massive strike, President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Tuesday, Oct. 6. “We received updated intelligence today regarding Russian preparations for a massive strike. We are preparing countermeasures,” Zelensky said after a coordination meeting with government officials, military leaders, and key emergency services.JOIN US ON TELEGRAMFollow our coverage of the war on the @Kyivpost_official. The warning came as Ukrainian officials worked on additional logistical arrangements in response to what Zelensky described as a Russian operation targeting the country’s logistics. Government officials and regional authorities had prepared those measures together, he said. Deadlines have been set for a substantial share of the tasks discussed at the meeting, with the most urgent measures already being implemented, according to Zelensky. Air defense preparations were a central focus of the discussion. The defense minister and Air Force commander briefed Zelensky on the distribution of air defense assets and the organization of defensive coverage around designated key facilities. Zelensky said Ukraine was securing the necessary ammunition for its F-16 fighter jets, interception capabilities, and interceptor missiles. However, he singled out defenses against ballistic missiles as the most difficult supply challenge. “The most difficult issue is defending against ballistic missiles, and the availability of these supplies depends entirely on our partners,” he said. “We are working with them daily.” Other Topics of Interest Russia Continues to Develop Cheap Cruise Missile Substitutes Russia is increasing the use and development of inexpensive, jet-powered “quasi-cruise” missiles to supplement conventional Shahed attack drones and cruise missiles. Zelensky also said Russian forces had attacked several Ukrainian hospitals in Kramatorsk and Kryvyi Rih over the preceding 24 hours. “The emergency services responded effectively, and it is important that the State Emergency Service of Ukraine responds promptly to every such situation in all of our regions.
