Free park-and-ride for state funeral at four locations

If you’re attending the State Service of Thanksgiving for the Right Excellent Sir Garfield Sobers, National Hero of Barbados, today, Wednesday, July 29, take advantage of the Transport Board’s free park-and-ride and dedicated bus services. Free park-and-ride buses will operate from the Garfield Sobers Gymnasium, the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, Queen’s College, and the National Cultural Foundation’s Car Park. These locations will open from 6:30 a.m. and remain available until one hour after the service. Free dedicated buses to Kensington Oval will also leave at 7:15 a.m. from the Oistins Sub Terminal, Emerald City Car Park at Republic Bank, Six Roads, St. Philip, and the Speightstown Bus Terminal. There will also be a dedicated Bayland service, with buses departing from Bay Primary School at 7 a.m. and again at 7:45 a.m. Return buses will be available at the end of the service. (BGIS)
