Free movie screenings offer Swiss seniors a refuge as heatwave hits

Swiss cinemas are stepping up to help seniors cope with an unprecedented heatwave by offering free movie screenings. With temperatures soaring to 36 degrees Celsius, these cool refuges provide a much-needed respite from the intense heat. This initiative highlights the importance of community support during extreme weather events, ensuring vulnerable populations have access to cooling facilities. It’s a smart, humane response to a pressing issue that underscores the need for more such measures in the face of climate change.
