Since Battle Royale matches require 100 players for the game to start, players regularly find themselves going up against pretty obvious AI opponents instead of other actual humans. Over the years, Epic has made adjustments to how populated Battle Royale matches are by bots, and fans are never happy when that percentage increases. If you’ve felt an overwhelming presence of AI players in the new Override season, there might be a good reason for that, as one user is reporting that the potential number of bots has more than doubled. Fortnite’s Bot Problem Might Have Peaked With The Override Season Your 100 Person Matches Could Include Only 25 Real Players As pointed out by reliable Fortnite insider SpushFNBR, Twitter user Au5la recently reported that Epic has made yet another change to how many real players are included in a Battle Royale match. While playing Battle Royale matches after the new season went live, Au5la found that the number of human opponents had dropped to just 25. With 100 players needed for a game, that means Fortnite’s Battle Royale matches are now made up of 75 percent bots and only 25 percent humans. SpushFNBR pointed out that the previous amount of bots in a Battle Royale match was 35 percent before being more than doubled for Override. It’s not clear if this is every match, but more testing is being done, and it’s clear the cap has been increased if nothing else. Considering Fortnite’s still-massive player count, it’s a little hard to see why Epic has increased the amount of bots again, especially since players are always so vocal about not wanting them. It’s likely just to speed up matchmaking as much as possible, but here’s hoping that Epic sees the negative reaction and brings the number back down to a more acceptable 35 percent.
