Former Zambales governor Amor Deloso dies at 87

Former Zambales governor and longtime public servant Amor Deloso has died. Grabbed from Amor Deloso’s FB page SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — Former Zambales governor and longtime public servant Amor Deloso has died. Deloso’s family confirmed his passing on Monday. The cause of death was not immediately disclosed. He passed away peacefully at the age of 87, according to his family. Article continues after this advertisement READ: Ebdane seeks reelection as Zambales gov A prominent figure in this province’s politics for decades, Deloso served multiple terms as governor and was known for his long career in public service which began when he served as mayor of Botolan from 1972 to 1986. He was subsequently appointed OIC (officer-in-charge) governor of Zambales following the 1986 People Power Revolution. He was later elected governor in 1988 and served three consecutive terms until 1998. Deloso returned to the provincial capitol as governor from 2007 to 2010 and again from 2016 to 2019, making him one of the province’s longest-serving provincial leaders. He sought to regain the governorship in the 2010, 2013, 2019, and 2022 elections but was defeated by Gov.
