The 28-year-old is set to return to training under Amorim this week after failing to secure a move away before the window slammed shut at 11pm on Tuesday. He was even training away from the main group and looked set to leave the San Siro before deadline day. Amorim had even made it clear that some of those players would stay out of the squad if they failed to find new clubs. But Milan have now changed their mind and Tomori is back in. The decision comes after the Italian giants failed to bring in another centre-back before the deadline. And after Matteo Gabbia picked up an injury, Amorim had even fewer options at the back. But the move fell through, leaving him in northern Italy and facing an uncertain few days. Tomori joined the club from Chelsea on loan in January 2021 before the deal was made permanent that summer.
