Former Auburn QB reportedly named starter at Big Ten program

Those reports also suggest that while Brown will start, he’ll split time during the game with fellow Iowa signal caller Jeremy Hecklinski.Brown transferred from Auburn to Iowa following the 2024 season, but was a backup for most of last season. He had just 21 pass attempts in 2025, completing 11 of them for 107 yards, one touchdown and one interception.Prior to transferring, he spent two seasons as a backup at Auburn. He made two starts in 2024, briefly taking Payton Thorne’s job before being benched after throwing three interceptions in the first half against Arkansas.He finished the 2024 season with 403 passing yards, six touchdowns and three interceptions on 27-for-43 passing.A Nashville native, Brown signed as a member of Auburn’s 2023 recruiting class.
