Former Arsenal star’s son, 14, joins England U15s as FA look to win battle with France

THE son of a former Arsenal star has been selected to play for England Under-15s – as the FA battle it out with France for his allegiance. Jeremie Aliadiere spent eight years with the Gunners. Leo Aliadiere, who turned 14 in June, got a call-up to the Young Lions’ U15 Emerging Talent Camp for this month. Aliadiere Jr is also eligible to feature for France through his father’s nationality. But England are wasting no time taking a closer look at the emerging talent by including him in the August camp. Should he impress, Aliadiere could earn a spot in the next U15s squad. Players, though, can choose to switch nationality at youth level and then even at senior level, too, if they have not played a competitive international match. Unlike his old man, the teenager primarily plays as an attacking midfielder. However, he can also operate up front or out on the wing. Aliadiere Jr has already been with the Gunners academy for five years and he has high hopes of breaking through into the senior team. He was part of the U13 side that won the Premier League Super Cup and even has signed a sponsorship deal with adidas. Comment now
