Fun Fact: he’s been to every single Idol Live! Tour. Sign in to your ScreenRant account Yellowstone might be one of the most popular TV Westerns, but another series in this genre is giving it a run for its money. The Taylor Sheridan-created drama premiered in 2018 and ran for five seasons. Multiple Yellowstone spinoffs have been launched since then, including 1883, 1923, Marshals and Dutton Ranch. The franchise's success has led networks and streaming platforms to lean into the genre with shows like Outer Range, Dark Winds, Billy the Kid, American Primeval and the Little House on the Prairie reboot. There are some TV Westerns still on the air that began well before Yellowstone debuted, though, like When Calls the Heart. The Hallmark Channel series adapts Janette Oke's 1983 novel and centers on a teacher named Elizabeth Thatcher, who uproots her life when she settles down in a town in the Canadian West after living in a big city. When Calls the Heart has been on for 13 seasons and stars Erin Krakow, Martin Cummins, Jack Wagner, Pascale Hutton, Kavan Smith, Andrea Brooks, Chris McNally, Kevin McGarry and Viv Leacock. When Calls The Heart Is Coming For Yellowstone's Crown On Amazon When Calls the Heart may be in between seasons right now, but the long-running Western is currently seeing a major streaming boost on Amazon's TV show Video On Demand chart in the United States, where it's sitting at No. 22, as of October 27, 2026. It's behind such shows as The Rainmaker, From, American Horror Story, South Park, The Stand, Tulsa, Anne of Green Gables, Grey's Anatomy, Landman, Law & Order: SVU, Dexter: Resurrection and Marshals. Yellowstone is not charting on Amazon right now, but Sheridan's Tulsa King, Landman and Marshals are. USA Network's TV remake of John Grisham's The Rainmaker recently began its second season, which explains why the legal drama is topping the Amazon chart. As for When Calls the Heart, the Western has suddenly entered the Top 25 amid a streaming resurgence after not charting at all lately. The Series Has Big Things In Store For Season 14 When Calls the Heart's streaming success comes at the perfect time because the series is returning for its 14th season in January 2027, though a specific premiere date hasn't been announced yet. Creators Michael Landon Jr. and Brian Bird have big things in store for next year, including the return of Full House's Lori Loughlin as Abigail Stanton. The actress was an original cast member but left amid the college admissions scandal that involved wealthy parents using illegal means to get their children accepted into colleges. Loughlin faced bribery and fraud charges, pleaded guilty, and went to prison for two months. After seven years away from When Calls the Heart, she made a guest appearance in season 13 earlier this year and will be back for six episodes in a recurring capacity during season 14. The show will reintegrate Abigail back into the group and show Nathan and Elizabeth moving closer to exchanging vows after getting engaged in the season 13 finale. When Calls the Heart season 14 premieres in January 2027 on Hallmark Channel.
