Before college, he spent a month studying at the Oxford English Centre. His superhero knowledge expands to the comics, with his undergraduate thesis being "Politics Reflected In American Comics." Mark Wahlberg stars in this sci-fi thriller that has become a streaming sensation, finding redemption years later. Wahlberg's list of movies is filled with action movies that make the most out of the actor's physical prowess. Some of those are more grounded action thrillers, such as 2 Guns with Denzel Washington, the Boston Marathon bombings film Patriots Day, Prime Video's heist movie Play Dirty, and more. That said, Wahlberg has not only dabbled in other genres, but he starred in multiple entries in one of the most popular sci-fi movie franchises, as Wahlberg is a major player in the Transformers universe. The actor gave life to Cade Yeager in two live-action Transformers movies directed by Michael Bay, 2014's Transformers: Age of Extinction and 2017's Transformers: The Last Knight. Wahlberg is also part of two other massive sci-fi movies. One of those is 2001's Planet of the Apes, which was directed by Tim Burton and starred actors like Helena Bonham Carter, Tim Roth, Michael Clarke Duncan, and Paul Giamatti. The other is the eerie sci-fi thriller The Happening, directed by mystery movie master M. Night Shyamalan. Now, Wahlberg is experiencing streaming success through Infinite, a sci-fi thriller that initially faced some issues. Wahlberg's Infinite Continues To Find Life On Streaming At the time of writing, Infinite stands as the 8th most-watched movie on Prime Video in the United States, as per FlixPatrol. The Wahlberg sci-fi thriller was originally released on Paramount+ back in 2021. While Infinite boasts a star-studded cast, including names like Dylan O'Brien, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Jason Mantzoukas, Rupert Friend, and more, the sci-fi thriller ended up only receiving a low 17% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes based on 82 reviews and a slightly better audience score of 33%. Infinite follows Wahlberg's Evan McCauley, who is haunted by memories of what he discovers are past lives as he joins the Infinites. The group who is trying to save the world from a fallen angel from their ranks, Ejiofor's Ted Bathurst, and the answers might just be locked away in Evan's memories. That premise draws some parallels to the fellow sci-fi thriller about a group of immortals, The Old Guard, that debuted on Netflix in 2020. Now, viewers can focus on Infinite, as it leaves behind Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood and Jon Bernthal's The Amateur on Prime Video's US chart. Infinite is one of the many new movies arriving on Prime Video in October, having landed on the streamer on October 1. Mark Wahlberg Has Another Major Streaming Release On The Way In 2026 Infinite's return as a major hit on another streaming service five years later will likely be only the first chapter of Wahlberg's streaming success in the final months of 2026. That is due to how the actor is set to return to his fan-favorite comedy franchise, Ted, through a unique new release. After starring in two live-action Ted movies, Wahlberg was absent from the character's first TV show, but the actor will now return as the voice of the adult John Bennett in the upcoming Ted: The Animated Series, which debuts on Peacock on December 17. Infinite's streaming success can lead into that release. Release Date June 10, 2021 Runtime 106minutes Director Antoine Fuqua
