Forever Amber Acres to host Veterans Harvest Fest in Medina

Community NewsForever Amber Acres is planning an event to celebrate veterans just off Medina square Oct. 16.Emily Canning-Dean, Special to Cleveland.comBy Emily Canning-Dean, special to cleveland.comMEDINA, Ohio – Local veteran’s groups are joining forces with Forever Amber Acres to create an event that allows the community to enjoy fall, honor veterans and support a local nonprofit. Forever Amber Acres, a Medina-based nonprofit that rescues horses and supports military service members, veterans and first responders through equine therapy, will host Veterans Harvest Fest Saturday, Oct. 16 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Medina Veterans Memorial Hall, 620 N. Broadway Street. “This is an open house so anyone can stop by between 5 and 9 p.m.,” said Michele Bolinger, founder of Forever Amber Acres. “We will have trunk or treat, pumpkin decorating and lawn games for kids. There will also be a chili cook-off and a 50/50 raffle. The memorial hall is just off the square so we thought it would be a great location since the square always draws a crowd.” Bolinger said there is no cover charge, but donations are appreciated. All donations will benefit Forever Amber Acres which provides services to veterans and first responders free of charge and is operated on a volunteer basis. “We actually have room for two more chili contestants so if anyone is interested in participating, they can contact me at michele.bolinger@foreveramber.org,” she said.
