Foreign Minister reaffirms Egypt’s firm support for Sudan’s unity

Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s firm and unwavering support for Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, territorial integrity and national institutions during a phone call with Sudanese Foreign Minister Mohieddin Salem. During the call, which came as part of continued consultation and coordination between the two brotherly countries, Abdelatty stressed the importance of ensuring that the political process remains fully Sudanese-owned in a manner that preserves the country’s resources and fulfills the aspirations of the Sudanese people for security and stability. The two ministers discussed bilateral relations and ways to further strengthen them across various fields. Abdelatty underscored Egypt’s pride in the deep-rooted historical and fraternal ties between the Egyptian and Sudanese peoples and its keenness to continue developing cooperation in a manner that serves the common interests of the two countries. The two ministers agreed to maintain close coordination and consultation in the coming period on various issues of common interest and to follow up on bilateral cooperation, in a manner that reflects the unique nature of Egyptian-Sudanese relations and serves the interests and aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.
