With just five days to go before Election Day, the regime broadcast networks are doing all they can to drag the deeply unpopular Democrat Party to victory. A new study from media watchdog NewsBusters shows ABC, NBC, and CBS are piling on the negative for Republican candidates while keeping negativity at bay for Democrats. NewsBusters, part of the Media Research Center, found the network’s nightly newscasts over the past month — Sept. 28 to Oct. 26 — were filled with a combined 56 minutes, 44 minutes of bad news about Republican campaigns. That compares to less than 19 minutes of negative news stories for Democrats. As the report notes, “Audiences getting their campaign news from the broadcast evening news programs, and all the online news feeds which feature their content, were three times as likely to see negative news about Republicans than Democrats.” Geoffrey Dickens, director of media analysis at the Media Research Center, observed that the coverage seems like it’s “meant to dissuade conservatives from going to the polls this month.” “They’ve also dutifully avoided (for the most part) talking about scandals and gaffes of Democratic candidates,” Dickens wrote. What El-Sayed Said The prickly Islamocommunist Abdul El-Sayed, who doesn’t want to talk about his reported ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, is a case in point. Asking about these ties, he will tell you, is Islamophobic, un-American. Corporate media outlets have been more than glad to cater to the Michigan Democrat who is in a tight race against Republican former Congressman Mike Rogers for the U.S. Senate seat held by retiring Democrat Gary Peters. El-Sayed quickly turned defensive recently when Fox News’ Bret Baier attempted to ask him about the candidate’s previous support for the terrorist group, snapping, “Don’t be Rogers’ campaign. Be a journalist.” As The Federalist has reported, El-Sayed signed a letter in 2012 urging Mohamed Morsi, president of Egypt at the time, to “purge” media and police unfriendly to the new regime. Morsi was a leader in the Egyptian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, which the U.S. government has designated as a terrorist organization. The letter, signed by more than 40 Egyptian American leaders, was published at an Egyptian news site. Morsi’s regime followed with a brutal crackdown on journalists and other dissenters. El-Sayed has angrily tried to explain away his sister’s 2012 tweet boasting of their mother’s “activism in the Muslim Brotherhood.” Had an amazing talk with my mom about her activism in the Muslim Brotherhood during the early 70s while she was in college #respect— Eman Abdelhadi (@emanabdelhadi) June 24, 2012 But ABC News was glad to run cover for its preferred candidate, taking El-Sayed denials as proof of “unsubstantiated Republican allegations,” “attacks on El-Sayed’s faith and his Egyptian heritage.” “El-Sayed would be the first Muslim senator if elected,” ABC News reported. Kristen Welker, Dem Party water girl and host of NBC’s Meet the Press, has been accused by Rogers and other Republicans of letting El-Sayed lie to her while tearing into Rogers. Welker quickly moved on after El-Sayed claimed he had no ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. Video shows a pronounced contrast in treatment of the two candidates. Several corporate media outlets quickly attacked Rogers’ performance on Meet the Press; they treated El-Sayed’s appearance with kid gloves by comparison. ‘Fake & Gay’ Perhaps not surprisingly ABC’s World News Tonight led the way in negative news coverage of Republicans, devoting nearly 24 minutes to skewering GOP candidates over the past month. NBC Nightly News came in second in the negative narrative race, at 16 minutes and 35 seconds, followed close behind by CBS Evening News at 16 minutes and 20 seconds. CBS News continues to show that it remains the same left-leaning shop it’s long been, despite doltish hero worship from some on the right for CBS Editor-In-Chief Bari Weiss. The 60 Minutes hit piece on the Trump administration’s investigations into noncitizens voting in U.S. elections cemented the fact that CBS News is “meet the new boss, same as the old boss” under Weiss. And that Lesley Stahl remains a left-wing Karen still scolding from a dying news magazine’s ivory tower. (And don’t forget about that “Fake & Gay” deported illegal immigrant.) NewsBusters lists some of the myriad Democrat candidate scandals and blunders the broadcast networks have downplayed or disappeared. For instance, Minnesota Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan, the Democrats’ candidate for Senate, has “multiple connections to Minnesota’s fraud cases.” You won’t find much of that information, if any, on the major broadcast networks. Same goes for Flanagan’s “grade inflation scandal.” What about California Democrat gubernatorial candidate Xavier Becerra outright fabrications about his poor immigrant background and the inconvenient truth that his dad was reportedly born in Sacramento? That kerfuffle is mostly MIA on the evening news. And the beat goes on. Excitement and Depression In one of the more nauseatingly absurd promo campaigns, NBC News insists it is “Reporting for America.” Half of America, maybe. The promo features the voices of exasperated-sounding people fed up with divisive news coverage. They just want “the facts”; they want the story reported from “both sides.” “Facts. Clarity. Calm,” the promo proclaims. The producers apparently aren’t watching the same NBC News conservatives have stopped watching. Exhibit A, the news outlet’s reporting on same-day visits from Trump and far-left Texas Senate candidate James Talarico to Lubbock. “On the day a sitting president landed in Lubbock, Texas, for the first time in 34 years, people waited for hours in lines stretching for blocks in this reliably red city. But the crowd wasn’t waiting for President Trump. They were waiting for Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico,” NBC News sneered Wednesday on its X account. Trump’s rally attracted many thousands more participants than Talarico’s, a fact reported on by local news outlets and The Federalist’s own Jordan Boyd. If it feels like a conservative voter suppression campaign, that’s because it is. “By the newscasts primarily filling their campaign stories with doom and gloom for Republicans, while barely mentioning any of the bad news for Democrats, they’ve spun a narrative that promotes excitement among leftist voters and depression for conservative voters,” Dickens wrote.
