FM asserts Egypt’s full solidarity with Kuwait

Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty asserted Egypt’s full solidarity with Kuwait, its leadership, government and people. He also asserted Egypt’s condemnation of all unjustified attacks targeting the country’s security, stability and sovereignty. The remarks came during a phone call between Abdelatty and Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah as part of ongoing consultations and coordination between the two brotherly countries on regional developments and efforts to de-escalate tensions and restore security and stability across the region. During the call, Abdelatty conveyed the greetings of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. The two ministers also discussed regional and international efforts aimed at reducing tensions. Abdelatty stressed the importance of an immediate halt to all military actions and escalation, a return to negotiations and prioritizing political and diplomatic solutions to contain growing tensions and preserve regional security and stability. He emphasized that the security and stability of the Gulf are an integral part of Arab national security, underscoring the importance of adhering to the principles of good neighborliness, respecting state sovereignty and refraining from interference in the internal affairs of other countries. Abdelatty also briefed his Kuwaiti counterpart on Egypt’s intensive consultations with a number of regional and international partners to advance de-escalation efforts. He stressed the importance of maintaining close coordination and consultation between Egypt and Kuwait in the coming period and continuing joint efforts to support initiatives aimed at restoring security and stability in the region. For his part, the Kuwaiti foreign minister praised Egypt’s commitment to continuous consultation with Kuwait and commended Cairo’s firm stance condemning the attacks directed against Kuwait.
