Fiz is suspicious (Picture: ITV) Fiz Dobbs (Jennie McAlpine) appears to be the only person who has sensed there something isn’t quite right about Ross Wilkes (Ian Burfield) in Coronation Street – which puts her in danger. Ross is Tyrone Dobbs’ (Alan Halsall) biological father. He made his arrival a couple of weeks ago, and convinced everyone that he was in town to start a new life, and get to know his son. Tyrone’s mum, Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney), hated seeing Ross again, and knew his charm was part of his act. Even when Cassie told Tyrone about how he was conceived, he didn’t turn his back on his dad. Ross paid someone and then raped Cassie when she was just 15 years old, resulting in her falling pregnant. During the confrontation Ross had with Ty, he said that he deeply regretted what had happened in the past, and this was enough for Tyrone to give his father another chance. Cassie worked hard to try and get rid of Ross, but this new face is smart and was constantly one step ahead of her. Cassie’s plans to prove Ross is dodgy failed, which led to her burning the bridges she had worked so carefully to build with her family and Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson). Isolated, Cassie announced that she’d be leaving Weatherfield for a new job on a cruise ship. She was found by Ross, who offered to take her to the train station. Parked at the side of a road, Cassie attempted to get the upper-hand during another argument with Ross, but he terrified her and locked the car doors. This was the last we saw of Cassie. We have no idea if she got on that cruise ship, or if evil Ross did something to her. Cassie disappeared after another showdown with Ross (Picture: ITV) Tyrone has been so caught up in getting to know his dad, he hasn’t for one second considered that something terrible has happened to his mum. As far as Ty is concerned, his life is better now Cassie isn’t in it. Thankfully, not everyone has fallen for Ross’ manipulation. In today’s episode, Hope Stape (Isabella Flanagan) was nagging Fiz and Ty for some money. Ross caved and told Hope to take some cash out of his wallet, but she found something very important while reaching for the tenner. Hope pulled out the family picture that Fiz had given to Cassie shortly before she vanished. Fiz immediately recognised the picture, and wondered why Ross had stolen it. Tyrone has washed his hands of Cassie (Picture: ITV) He created a cover story pretty quickly, claiming that Cassie threw the image in his face prior to her leaving. Tyrone bought this, but Fiz didn’t. She later pondered over the fact that Cassie hasn’t answered her messages since she left. As troubled as she was, Cassie loved her family, and Fiz knew that she wouldn’t just give up trying to fix things with them. If Ross did something to Cassie, Fiz growing suspicious puts her in a great deal of danger.
