Published September 13, 2026 01:20 PM Two of the Jets’ three first-round picks played big roles in the team’s first offensive possession of the 2026 season. Quarterback Geno Smith found wide receiver Omar Cooper on a third down in Titans territory and Cooper wiggled free for a 30-yard gain that set the Jets up inside the Tennessee 5-yard-line. Cooper’s fellow rookie Kenyon Sadiq wound up getting the ball into the end zone on a three-yard run as offensive coordinator Frank Reich found a creative way to get the ball into the tight end’s hands. Jason Sanders’s extra point put the Jets up 7-0 with 10:45 to play in the first quarter. Smith was 2-of-3 for 37 yards and running back Breece Hall had four carries for 15 yards. The Titans also gave up 10 yards on a pass interference penalty.
