A FIRST look has been given to the UK’s ‘golf course by the sea’ as multi-million pound plans for the development are expanded. The mega-scheme, which has not finished completion yet, is set to cost £120million in total. The beachfront scheme is set to transform the hotel’s current 40-acre site into a mixed-use destination, with housing, leisure facilities and new golf course added to the area. A newly expanded 25metre swimming pool and purpose-built gym will also be constructed, which will be available for residents, community members (including schools and youth groups), as well as hotel guests to use. The £120million project also intends to improve the Hythe Imperial Hotel’s current offering. This includes replacing the existing 18-hole golf course with a new nine-hole three-par course, as well as a themed adventure golf area.
