It has only been out for a matter of days, but the problems just keep coming for Apple's iPhone Duo. After several users reported unsightly cracks on their screens, one early buyer has discovered a visible gap on his £2,000 device. The user, known only as @MICAPe9 on Reddit, posted a video showing the gap, which sits between the back of the device and the hinge. 'Check your iPhone Duo,' he wrote on the forum.'Welcome to GapGate. I bought mine on launch day. No, I haven't dropped my phone.'I just returned my iPhone Duo, I loved it, bit I will wait to second generation.' As he moves the device from side to side, a clear gap between the back and the hinge becomes visible. Having watched the video, other iPhone Duo buyers checked their own devices – and discovered a similar issue. One user replied: 'Mine does when I use a flash light. It looks ok without the light but… damn.' Another said: 'yea i can stick something thicker than paper inside its ever so slight but definitley big enough for crumbs ect to get inside. I assume this isnt how its supposed to be?' And one wrote: 'I just checked right now and you can see both sides right through, smh most disappointing release on Apple's end.' Others who are yet to receive their devices said the issue was pushing them towards cancelling their order. 'This phone has way too many issues and the fear that one grain of sand into the hinge can potentially break the screen, too much stress at play.'The latest complaints come shortly after the so–called 'crackgate' hit the headlines. Users have posted dozens of pictures and videos showing iPhone Duos with nearly identical damage where a large crack runs down the central crease with a large chipped area about a third of the way up, while a bright line of dead pixels runs all the way across the right–hand screen. One Reddit user claimed that a crack had appeared on their iPhone Duo just three hours after they purchased it. Dozens of Apple customers took to social media to share similar cracks that had formed hours to days after purchases The customer said they had 'opened it maybe 20 times tops' before hearing a 'pop' and finding their screen was shattered.Likewise, another Apple customer wrote: 'Had my iPhone Duo for about six hours and had probably opened it fewer than 20 times.'I was showing it to a friend, and as I opened it, I felt something around the internal hinge, underneath the screen. As I continued opening it, I heard an audible crack, and the screen broke right along the hinge.'One user complained that they 'didn't even make it through setup' before the screen cracked after opening the phone 'four times'.Once again, they reported that the 'hinge got tight and then made a loud pop when I pushed past it'.Apple said it was aware of 'an issue impacting the inner display on a small number' of iPhone Duos and urged affected users to contact the company for a replacement. The Daily Mail has contacted Apple for the comment on the gap issue.
