Dublin Fire Brigade (DFB) has advised any residents close to the scene of a large fire at a car dismantlers in Wimbletown, north Co Dublin, to close all windows and doors as they continue to work to control the blaze.The service says it was alerted to the fire shortly after 3pm on Thursday afternoon and responded immediately.By 5pm, it said there were eight units at the scene including five fire engines, a foam unit and two water tanks.The fire is located near Ballyboughal in Fingal, not far from Lusk, and is visible across a wide area.READ MOREDFB says a senior officer is overseeing the operation to extinguish the fire and it is receiving support from Meath fire service. It says it expects its personnel to be at the scene “for the foreseeable future as this will be a protracted incident”.The cause of the of the fire is not yet known.
