Fortune’s Weave’s DLC cannot get here fast enough Image: Intelligent Systems/Nintendo Though we highly doubt most Fire Emblem Fortune’s Weave players have reached the end of this truly ginormous game, that hasn’t stopped fans from doing their utmost to explore everything it has to offer. And in some cases, even more than what the game openly offers, using AI-assisted jailbreaking to datamine every possible asset. Last week, that datamine revealed Fortune’s Weave paired endings (far weirder than we expected, by the way). This time around, however, fans have started ripping the game's character sprites from the code, unearthing characters not seen before, as well as a few shocking reveals we may learn more about when Fortune’s Weave’s additional routes arrive sometime in 2027. Fire Emblem Fortune’s Weave leaks reveal more than we bargained for Image: Intelligent Systems/Nintendo The in-game character sprites were posted on X, sparking lively discussion among the Fire Emblem fan community on Reddit. Be warned: the discussion on Reddit (as well as in this article) will mention spoilers for all parts of Fortune’s Weave, notably Parts 2 and 3. With four Flame Lord routes — Cai, Dietrich, Theodora, and Leda — already available to play through, the biggest surprise in the datamined information is the reveal of several characters who haven’t appeared in any of them. This isn’t too surprising. We know from a previous AMA with Intelligent Systems and Nintendo that Fortune’s Weave originally had eight routes. Since the expansion promises more content around the four cut lords — Orchel, Talimun, Bertrand, and Anatolia — their character sprites may potentially appear in those routes. However, the datamine seems to reveal more than just new characters. It also points to several variations for some characters, including Bertrand. One variation shows Bertrand from before his time as The White-Maned Demon, as he was when he was younger, with black hair and the same armor he wore when he killed Leda’s father. Another shows him, still young, but in gladiator clothing. While some have appeared in-game before, others haven’t, prompting fans to speculate that they’ll appear in Bertrand’s route in the 2027 expansion. Image: Intelligent Systems/Nintendo via Polygon One character reveal that seems to have pleased thirsty fans is a shirtless Talimun. The boss of the Vandahl Trading Company, Talimun is considered the luckiest merchant alive, with fortune that seems eerily supernatural. He’s also a known flirt, with plenty of admirers, including his second-in-command, Ursula, and the pink-haired cutie Ludia. Even if not ever player will be happy to see Talimun shirtless, these fictional characters certainly will be. It’s worth noting that, exciting as these reveals are, there’s no confirmation that any of them will appear in future DLCs; for now, it’s all speculation. As mentioned earlier, Fortune’s Weave was originally a far more ambitious project (and it’s still plenty ambitious), so many planned features were scrapped or left unfinished. Fire Emblem: Three Houses was also datamined, revealing content (R.I.P. Infernal Mode) that didn’t make it into the base game. Still, we hope that some of this information ends up being true. If not for the thrilling reveals, then for the sake of those fans out there frothing at the mouth for a shirtless Talimun.
