We will know more after further investigation,' he said.Hotel owner Kul Bahadur Tamang confirmed that all guests and staff were safely evacuated from the 17-room establishment after the fire broke out in the kitchen. Speaking from the scene, trekking guide Arjun Gurung told the Everest Chronicle: 'We could not do anything but watch it burn down.''There were many gas cylinders in the kitchen, making it virtually impossible to put out the fire,' he said.He added that the building's extensive use of wood, which insulates against the cold, helped the flames spread rapidly.Climbers heading towards Everest Base Camp have been stranded in Dingboche because of the extreme weather.'We could neither go higher nor descend. We are stuck here for a couple of days, waiting for the weather to clear,' Gurung said.Hotel Good Luck is a popular place for trekkers to stop on their way to Everest. Gurung said he was devastated by the fire.'We have many good memories of the hotel. It was painful to watch,' he said.
