Fire breaks out in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar hospital NICU

A fire broke out at Asian Hospital in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar around 2:45 a.m. According to officials, 58 patients, including nine newborns, were safely evacuated. The newborns were shifted to Ghati Hospital, MGM Hospital and Sanjeevani Hospital.The incident reportedly occurred due to a short circuit in an AC unit in the NICU.This is the second incident of fire in NICU in last 10 days in Maharashtra. On August 24, three newborns were killed and 36 were rescued after a fire broke out at the Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) of the District Women’s Hospital in Amravati, Maharashtra.
